The East Side
The route starts in the charming town of Ingenio, known for its artisanal traditions and rich cultural heritage. The challenging climb to Temisas, about 10 kilometers long, will take us to the highest point of the route, around 800 meters above sea level, where we’ll enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the coast and its vast, arid plains.
After a gentle descent, we reach Santa Lucía de Tirajana, where a stop is a must. The lovely old town combines cobbled streets with historic buildings, and the olive-growing tradition is evident in the fields surrounded by green hills and steep valleys.
The final part of the route is a smooth and winding descent to the area of La Era del Cardón, where the reddish-brown mountains will make you feel like you are cycling through a lunar landscape. After a constant series of ups and downs, we reach our last village: Agüimes. Famous for its neoclassical church and the well-known Guayadeque valley, where you can enjoy local cuisine in a truly unique setting.
This circular route is fantastic for those looking to push themselves on the climbs while enjoying long, winding descents. Suitable for all levels, this part of the island will not disappoint you.
